2002 Lamborghini Murciélago Quick Ride with Manual Transmission

You know you’re getting old when you see a yellow, manual Lamborghini Murcielago and you put up a smile and say “I love old school”. It is incredible to say that supercars of our early teens are now becoming collector’s items and represent an era which won’t be back again.
This big, yellow and noisy V12 monster is indeed part of an era where all you needed in a supercar was just a big engine, power and loads of grip. No fancy screens, modes or idiotic cylinder deactivation systems, you were just on full power all the time!
The satisfaction in hearing the metallic “click-click” from the gearlever and that big engine howling at your back is huge, even for a quick drive around Verona. It sure feels like we car nuts always love the generation before and always have a soft spot for anything that’s 10 years + older than the modern line up. I miss the times when you could walk up to a showroom and buy these monsters new, and have them delivered in any color and trim you liked.
We won’t see a new manual Lamborghini or a new supercar equipped with a manual gearbox anytime and the pleasure of having a relationship with the machine is already a thing of the past. However, as long as old school supercars are around, we can consider ourselves happy.
